Interactive Assessment

Interactive Assessment is an added feature for From Phonics to Reading in Sadlier Connect.  Interactive Assessment allows teachers to assess students for fluency and accuracy as well as word recognition and decoding skills.  Users can purchase Interactive Assessments to be included in their access of From Phonics to Reading.

Interactive Assessments can be found at the top of the Table of Contents under Assessment.

For Grade K there are five assessments:
Letter Names Lower and Uppercase
Letter Sounds
High Frequency Words
Fluency Check

For Grades 1-3 there are three assessments:
Comprehensive Phonics Survey
High Frequency Words
Fluency Check

Expand the Assessment menu item to access assessments and resources. 

Click Assessment Administration Videos for teachers guides on how to administer the assessment types.  

Comprehensive Phonics Survey and High Frequency Words Assessments are available under "Benchmark Assessments".

Fluency Check Assessments
 are available under Unit/Lessons.

Small Group resources are available under Small Group Planning.

Assigning Interactive Assessments
Interactive Assessments are assigned in the same manner as the other resources in Sadlier Connect; simply click the assign icon adjacent to the assessment.

Assessment Period
Both Comprehensive Phonics Survey and High Frequency Words must be assigned to an Assessment Period.

Survey Implementation Options
Self-Guided Assessment
:
This self-guided version of the assessment allows students to record themselves on their own, and submit their recordings for review by instructors.
Teacher-Administered Assessment:
This teacher-administered version of the assessment allows teachers to capture and analyze student responses while they are taking the interactive or PDF version of the assessment.

Taking Interactive Assessments
When students take an Interactive Assessment they will first be asked to allow the microphone to access the assignment.

Students will then record each word or phrase and submit once completed.


Reviewing and grading submissions
As the teacher you can review the submitted recording for each student, assess accuracy / fluency and provide feedback if needed.

Assessment Reports
To review a report of the assessment, access FPR Assessment Reports from the Reports menu.

Click View to see the results of the graded assessment for an individual student.
